Online Orientation - Spring 2019

Online Orientation for Distance Education students is open!

Who can complete orientation online? For ALL new students beginning at MSU Texas in Spring 2019, you are eligible to complete orientation online.

All new undergraduate students are required to participate in orientation. Graduate students will receive information on separate orientation options, but are welcome to review the undergraduate information below.

As you begin your time at MSU, you may have many questions.  Orientation presents information concerning the important academic choices you will be making as well as services available to you as a student at Midwestern.  The faculty, staff, and students look forward to meeting you this semester. MSU is an exciting, growing university, and we are eager to help you get the best start.

In order to complete orientation online, there are two steps that must be completed.

  1. Complete the Required Orientation Modules.
  2. Review the online resources available for Distance Education students.

Step 1: Required Orientation Modules

In order to complete your early orientation online, you must watch the videos in each of the modules. Click the links below to begin.

Most information on payment arrangements or other MSU Business Office services (and many local/MSU scholarships) apply to every student.

  3. Module Three. Main campus and Flower Mound students should complete the appropriate video module below. This module is not required for Distance Education students.
    CHOOSE 1!
Student Services 15 minutes *required for students taking classes on campus in Wichita Falls
         OR
Flower Mound Information for DFW Students 10 minutes *required for students taking classes at Flower Mound or hybrid/online classes in the DFW area

TIPS FOR SUCCESS: Want to get it right the first time? Plan your time accordingly; the video system isn't great about frequent starting and stopping, so schedule enough time to watch the whole video from beginning to end. Use the right browser; if you don't have Adobe Flash and an up-to-date browser, you may want to use another device. Don't skip slides; each report about your viewing record will show if you skipped slides or sped through without listening to the audio.

Step 2: Important Academic Information

Below are links of interest and information which will be vital to your educational journey at MSU.  Please take the time to review each of these sites, or at least, bookmark this page so that you can refer to it later.
