What is the Board of Regents?

The Board of Regents is the governing body of Midwestern State University as authorized by the Texas Legislature according to Chapter 103 of the Texas Education Code.

How are Board members selected?

They are appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve six year terms. (Policy 2.21)

How many members serve on the Board?

The Board of Regents consists of nine members and one student regent.

What is the term of service for the student regent?

The student regent is selected by the Governor of Texas to serve for one year beginning in June.
