The Assistant Director of the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center oversees the development, implementation and assessment of initiatives that support minoritized and historically marginalized populations at Midwestern State University. These efforts include, but are not limited to, consulting with incoming & current students of color, mentoring, advising and supervising student staff, and designing programs and resources to meet their needs. Reports to the Director of the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center.
 Design & implement programming & resources to support enrollment, retention & success.  Serve as an advocate regarding student policies & processes that affect their enrollment & success.  Recruit, train and supervise student assistants who may serve at S.T.A.N.D. Council leaders.  Research & analyze student needs on a regular basis, recommending initiatives to support student needs.  Develop a formal network of external resources to support students, including educational institutions, government agencies, professional organizations, etc.  Serve as an information resource to students, faculty, staff and the MSU community (stakeholders) regarding the specific needs of students of color.  Represent the Center at speaking engagements, information sessions, & other special programs as required by the Director.  In coordination with the Director, provide leadership & support in the annual development, planning, coordination, scheduling, and implementation of the Center's programming & resources as needed.  Assist the Director in the development, coordination and implementation of annual goals and objectives for the Center.  Assist the Director in preparing reports and proposals (i.e. progress/annual reports, statistical summaries) as requested by administration.  Fulfill other duties as required and defined by the Director. 
Physical Condition
 Minimum of two years' experience in the field related to student development, and relevant experience managing student programs in a higher education setting.  Experience working with, supporting and advocating for the needs of diverse student populations.
 Demonstrated knowledge of national research, issues, and current events regarding college students and the ability to translate this information into programming and resources designed to support students' retention and success.  Strong advising, program development and management skills.  Demonstrated ability to plan and achieve short and long term goals driven by the mission and objectives of the Center, as well as with institutional data.  Proven presentation and communication skills.  Demonstrated proficiency with basic computer programs and systems (such as Microsoft Office applications, as well as internet, calendaring and email management systems).
 Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
Additional Requirements
Should posses the sensitivity and skill to work with a diverse and multicultural student and employee population. Regular reliable attendance is required. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. *Designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
