Serve as Director of Choral Activities; direct choirs (Midwestern Singers, University Singers, Oratorio Chorus); teach basic or advanced conducting, diction, and other music classes or applied voice lessons as needed; and perform other duties commensurate with experience and education. In addition, assess students, hold office hours, and engage in department, college, and university service. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues and area school directors, and representing the music department on and off campus.
This is a nine-month visiting appointment. A master's degree in music with specialization in choral conducting is required for Visiting Instructor appointment. A doctorate of music with specialization in choral conducting is required for Visiting Assistant Professor appointment. Preferred qualifications include a record of successful artistic/professional achievements and prior experience in higher education.


This position is designated as security sensitive and requires the finalist to complete a criminal background check.
