Responsibilities
The position will have a combination of duties to include applied brass lessons, undergraduate courses in music theory and aural skills, selected ensembles as needed, and other duties or courses as assigned. In addition, the successful candidate will maintain a record of professional performances, presentations and/or publications, perform regularly on major instrument, successfully collaborate with music faculty and ensemble directors, actively recruit, engage in departmental, university, and community service, develop relationships with area schools and directors, and be a positive representative of the university both on and off campus.
Qualifications
Appointment requires a doctorate in music. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach trumpet and all areas of the music theory sequence. Successful music teaching experience at the secondary or college level is preferred.
