COVID-19 Vaccine Information

Dear MSU Texas community,

As COVID-19 vaccine begins to slowly, but steadily be distributed in our local community, several of you may have questions regarding the efficacy and safety of the vaccines as well as when vaccine will be available to you.

Many questions regarding COVID vaccine can be addressed with confidence, and yet the answer regarding availability cannot.

In order to provide our campus with a complete picture of the vaccine situation to date, we have updated the Frequently Asked Questions section below to address the following questions:

Are the vaccines effective and safe?

  • How much will the vaccine cost?
  • What are the side effects?
  • Will the vaccine be required?
  • When will the vaccine be available?
  • Will the vaccine be available at MSU Texas?

I encourage each of you to learn more about the answers to these questions as we await our turn for vaccine.

Meanwhile – and you knew this was coming – wear your mask, wash your hands, keep your distance, and stay in unless you really have a need to go out. I have with my eyes seen 2,000-plus people immunized in large operations with our partners – the newly immunized are joyful people – on occasion to the point of tears or of laughter. Your turn will come.
