Dual Credit

ACCESS MSU allows the opportunity for high school students to experience a college environment. ACCESS MSU means access to classes, transferable college credits, computer labs, campus bookstore, library, Wellness Center, athletic events, student events, music events, theater events, Artist Lecture presentations, dining facilities, the Clark Student Center Game Room and the Campus Card System.  ACCESS MSU students may be eligible to receive a partial tuition scholarship that is based upon an unconditional admission status to the program.

Admissions Criteria:

  • Admissions application is required for ACCESS MSU.  Do not submit the ApplyTexas application.
  • Official ACT of 22 or higher
  • Official SAT of 1110 on the combined reading/writing and math
  • Official PSAT of 460 on the evidence reading and writing and a 510 on the math
  • Official high school transcript
  • Official college transcript, if applicable
  • Meet Texas Success Initiative(TSI).

ACCESS MSU students are required to maintain good academic standing with the university and their high school.  Students should be aware that taking college classes through dual credit results in the establishment of a collegiate academic record and students earn a college grade point average. Students can take MSU core classes and they will count as dual credit courses at their high school.  Students must submit an official MSU transcript to any institution where admission is sought.
