Checking Your Results on the Writing Proficiency Exam

Passing exam results will be posted to students’ transcripts by the Office of the Registrar. You may check your results by accessing your student file through the MSU website approximately six weeks after the date of the exam. Results will not be provided over the phone or via e-mail.

  • If you passed the exam, “Writing Proficiency Exam – Passed” will be noted on your transcript. Please go to the semester that you took your exam and look at the "term comments" heading above your courses.

  • If you failed the exam, your results will not be noted on your transcript.  To verify, check the "Holds" screen on Web World.  The hold will read: "Writing Proficiency Exam--Failed".  You will then need to make arrangements to enroll in and pass ENGL 2113 to satisfy the Writing Proficiency Requirement.
