Physics majors have the option of working as teaching assistants in the lower division labs upon successful completion of their introductory physics courses. Physics majors also have the opportunity to participate in research projects under the supervision of a faculty member.

Current projects include exploring the evolution of dwarf galaxies and nonlinear behaviors in granular materials. Our students have presented at regional conferences, attended talks and presentations at nearby universities, and traveled to major research facilities to collect data for their projects. MSU also hosts chapters of the Society of Physics Students and Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society.
