This section is designed to assist you with identifying appropriate funding sources for your research projects and provide information and assistance on the major searchable funding opportunity databases available to all investigators at Midwestern State University.

Resources for Finding Funding Opportunities
MSU Texas Resources
SPIN Funding Opportunities Database

MSU Texas subscribes to InfoEd/SPIN, a funding opportunities database that allows faculty to search for funding in their area of research. The SPIN database includes grants from government and private sources. All MSU faculty are welcome to create an account and search for grant opportunities.

You can search for opportunities on SPIN independently, or if you would like assistance, OSPR is happy to help you set up and save searches that will yield relevant results. For self-guided training, you can download the SPIN Quick-Start Guide and view several short SPIN Training Videos

OSPR funding opportunities bulletin

OSPR also publishes a funding opportunities bulletin every 3 weeks. The bulletin includes a selection of current funding opportunities that may be of interest to faculty, administrators, and staff at MSU Texas. You can find the current bulletin and archived editions at the following link:

Federal

For Federal funding sources, SPIN and/or Grants.gov are good places to start; however, the funding agencies' websites often offer a wealth of information about grant opportunities, previously funded projects, application guidelines, and policies.
