
Niyati Kataria, Ph.D.
Dr. Niyati Kataria has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Business from universities in Delhi, India. She has also earned a Ph.D. degree in Management, with a focus in Organizational Behavior, from Pennsylvania State University in the United States.
Dr. Kataria teaches Human Resource Management, International Management, Organizational Behavior, and Special Topics in Management. She also enjoys researching subjects related to human motivation and performance.
Dr. Kataria has 13 years of experience in teaching at the university level. She has worked with United Nations-sponsored nonprofits in Geneva and several nonprofits in Texas, providing training towards employee and volunteer motivation. She served as a Board member for the Nonprofit Center of Wichita Falls and the Wichita Falls chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. She specializes in delivering training around the topics of emotional intelligence, stress management, stereotype/bias recognition, diversity enhancement, to name a few.
Her research interests include the study of emotions in the workplace, organizational identity, and entrepreneurial behavior. Her research has appeared in the Australian Journal of Management, the International Entrepreneurship, & the Management Journal.
Dr. Kataria is the faculty advisor for Delta Sigma Pi, a co-ed professional business fraternity at MSU TEXAS that encourages scholarship, professional development, and social activity. Delta Sigma Pi allows high achieving students to build a network of friends and teammates with whom they can study and grow.
